2025 SPRING MEDIA DAY

Join us for a day full of learning and inspiration, just when your staff needs a mid-year energizer. We are thrilled to welcome student journalists from around the state back to Spring Media Day at the University of Oregon campus in Portland.
Here's the tentative schedule:
9 - 9:30 a.m. — Registration
9:30 - 10:20 a.m. — Session 1
10:30 - 11:20 a.m. — Session 2
11:20 - 12:30 p.m. — Lunch on own**
12:30 - 1:20 p.m. — Session 3
1:30 - 2:20 p.m. — Session 4
2:30 p.m. — Program concludes
**NOTE: This campus is located in a residential area with few restaurant options in walking distance. We recommend staffs bring a lunch or make other arrangements for lunch, like delivery.

networking opportunities for advisers and student leaders
Need a little help getting there?
OJEA is offering five $300 grants to low-income schools to offset bus and/or substitute costs. The brief online application is due Monday, Feb. 10 and is available here.
Volunteer to speak
We're currently seeking volunteer media professionals, faculty, advisers and other experts in all media fields who are interested in leading a 50-minute session for students. If you are looking for a way to guide and inspire the next generation of student journalists, please complete our speaker session proposal form by Monday, Feb. 10
Arrival, parking
Students arriving by bus can be dropped off curbside on NE 29th Ave. The corner of NE 29th Ave. and NE Rosa Parks Way is near the Library Learning Center, where conference registration and most activities take place. Busses can park on the perimeter of campus or in the lots surrounding the soccer field.
